The MSSU Co-Curricular Assessment Committee exists for the purpose of sustaining a comprehensive assessment program for all its units, and will focus on matters relating to the assessment of programmatic and student learning outcomes in the Division of Student Affairs in an effort to promote a culture of continuous improvement within Student Affairs. The committee shall carry out its defined functions and responsibilities as described in this document.
The committee will maintain a representative cross-section of Student Affairs (SA) employees (6), two liaisons from the Assessment Advisory Committee (1 faculty, 1 staff), representatives from the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, and a representative from the Student Affairs Cabinet.

Each member is limited to a 3-year term (Revised 12/2018). If the member serves as Chair-Elect, they may serve additional terms as necessary to fulfill their obligation. The life cycle of the committee should always be considered. In the early years, all committee members will be new; however, in the future there will be opportunities for past members to be included, which will help maintain continuity and experience level of the committee over time. Some charter members may be expected to serve a longer term than two years in order to maintain continuity.
The MSSU Co-Curricular Assessment Committee reports to and receives direction from the Vice President for Student Affairs Cabinet (VPSA, Dean of Students, Dean of Student Success). Faculty and staff representatives from the MSSU Assessment Advisory Council will also provide direction and assistance related to the assessment process.
